about

miriam

Miriam was born in Barcelona and moved to the United States at the age of 21. The challenges she experienced in childhood and early adulthood sparked a lifelong curiosity about why we react the way we do, how our experiences shape our relationships, and what allows people not only to heal from painful experiences, but to reconnect with themselves and others.

She explores the ways our perceived differences can sometimes mask the experiences we all share: the desire to be loved, seen, understood, and connected. Through her work as a psychologist, writer, and educator, she hopes to help people cultivate greater compassion for themselves and others, creating a deeper sense of connection.

BECAUSE YOU DESERVE TO FEEL AT HOME FROM THE INSIDE OUT

Our work together is aimed to help you understand the patterns that keep you stuck in fear, self-doubt, or disconnection and undergo the journey to finally feel calm, confident, and safe in your own life. My approach supports a shift from survival mode into security: expressing who you are, listening to your body, and building healthy relationships where you feel seen and secure.

One of the most healing aspects has been experiencing compassion mirrored back to me

Working with Miriam has been a meaningful experience. She is kind, compassionate, flexible, and generous with her time, always creating a safe space for me to show up just as I am. What makes her stand out is not only her professional expertise but also her personal experience with the very things I've struggled with. Knowing she's walked through and overcome similar challenges gives me hope.

Her approach goes beyond traditional talk therapy and reaches a deeper level, bypassing the mental noise and self-critical thoughts that often get in the way. One of the most healing aspects has been experiencing compassion mirrored back to me in our sessions, which is helping me learn to offer that same compassion to myself.

I miss meeting with her (which is saying a lot for therapy!)

I have loved working with Miriam. I appreciate the holistic approach she takes, looking at emotional health in the context of whole body health for best results. An issue I had with some past therapists is that they would leave the sessions entirely up to me and I often wouldn't know what to talk about. Miriam would honor anything I did want to discuss but always had a plan if I wasn't sure. Meeting with her felt like talking to a friend. This made me feel like she was actually invested in me. She's a highly knowledgeable therapist and professional and also very warm, non judgemental, and helps you feel very cared for (by going over a few minutes if it feels important and checking in between sessions vs adhering to strict boundaries regardless of what was going on emotionally). I miss meeting with her (which is saying a lot for therapy!). I had a baby so just don't have time anymore but hope to pick up where we left off down the road. I highly recommend her! She is so sweet and easy to talk to.

I am not only almost completely pain free but I also feel like a different, more powerful version of myself.

When I started working with Miriam I had horrible vulvodynia pain on a daily basis and I felt extremly alone and helpless. Today, a few months later I am not only almost completely pain free but I also feel like a different more powerful version of myself.

The tools I learned from Miriam and the sessions I had with her not only fascilitated my healing but will most likely serve me for the rest of my life. Miriam met me with compassion when I didn't have it for myself and sometimes I felt like she was the only one who truely understood my pain. She cheered me on and helped me to be patient when I felt like nothing was moving forward. And every session and tool I learned was tailored to my needs and to where I was at in this particular moment.

Miriam has been an amazing guide and therapist during my healing journey and she has introduced me to a lot of topics and concepts that I believe will help me navigate my life in the future and that I am excited to learn more about on my own.
